I am always interested to read about how other women care for their skin so I thought I would share my own routine. For me, taking care of my skin is important because I believe if you put in the time (and sometimes money) in looking after your skin during the younger years then it is more likely that you will maintain supple skin and age more gracefully later on. I have never worn much makeup, although I have been wearing more lately...(could it be because of those tired mummy eyes?)...I will share my makeup basics in another post.
I firmly believe that the best recipe for healthy glowing skin is to drink at least 2 Ltrs of water daily, 1o mins of sun daily (no hat or suncream) which also provides the essential daily vitamin D requirement, and a dip in the ocean once or twice per week. Not to mention adequate sleep and a suitable cleansing/moisturising routine.
About 3 weeks ago I received a voucher from my family to use in a local beauty salon which changed my daily skin care routine for the better. I chose to get a facial and WOW was it amazing!! I have not felt that relaxed in a while, it was much needed. I enjoyed it so much that I booked in for another one 6 weeks later (I'm looking forward to it!).
The beautician used french skincare label Sothys. My skin was dehydrated beforehand but the facial left it feeling rich supple and light. The beautician sent me home with some samples and a week later my face and neck felt so rehydrated and smooth, I went back and bought Sothys Soothing Milk and Sothys Softening Emulsion. Morning and night I wash my face and neck with the milk followed by the softening cream. The cream is penetrating yet light and lasts all day without feeling thick.
If I am not wearing any foundation then I apply Olay Complete Defense Daily UV Moisturising Lotion SPF 30+ to my face and neck.
If I am wearing foundation I wear Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua which has an SPF 15+ followed by the rest of my makeup which I generally keep to a minimal nude look. During the day a nude fresh faced look suits my lifestyle, these photos show the bare minimal for a day at home
So there you have it. My very simple daily skin care routine. When it comes to skin care I believe less is more and quality matters.
With love, R x
